JEFFREY SOBLE, M.D.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Jeffrey Soble, M.D. is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of ASCEND. Dr. Soble is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Radiology; Director, Coronary Intensive Care Unit at Rush University Medical Center. He trained in Cardiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the University of Chicago and received his medical degree from the University of Michigan. Dr. Soble has been involved in medical informatics and clinical information systems for over two decades. As a member of the Digital Formatting and Computer Applications Committees of the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and the ASE representative to the Digital Image Communications in Medicine Ultrasound Working Group, he played a key leadership role in the development of the Structured Reporting standard (Supplement 23) within DICOM.

CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER
James Roberge, Ph.D. is ASCEND’s Chief Technical Officer and Co-founder. He was the software architect of ASCEND’s structured reporting engine, and led the development of the web-based framework that integrates its reporting software with major EMR and cardiovascular information systems. Prior to joining ASCEND, he was Associate Professor of Computer Science & Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology and served as Associate Chairman of the Department of Computer Science, where he directed the department’s graphics and image-processing laboratory. His research included collaboration with Rush University’s Cardiology department on the application of image processing to extract quantitative data from echocardiographic images and the synthesis of novel views from these images.

Edgar Hellwig was appointed Senior Vice President, Services and Support for ASCEND in 2013. Prior to his role at ASCEND, Mr. Hellwig served as Project Lead at Digisonics and Global Cardiovascular Services Manager at Agfa HealthCare. Mr. Hellwig has over 15 years of experience building high performance teams that provide development, support and implementation services.

Lisa Braunreuther serves as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for ASCEND, a position she has held since joining the company in 2012. Prior to joining ASCEND, Ms. Braunreuther was the Global Business Manager, Cardiology IT for Agfa HealthCare. She is an accomplished healthcare business leader with over 25 years of combined industry and clinical experience in Cardiology, Radiology, and Healthcare IT.
